The Prince George Parks and Recreation Foundation is a non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to serve the parks and recreational needs of Prince George County, Virginia. This organization will link local government, schools, businesses, churches and community groups to programs, facility enhancements and activities which address the essential recreational needs of the county.
These needs are:
1. Providing volunteers to support park and recreation activities
2. Creating new programs and grants for park and recreation projects
3. Creating new park and recreation facilities within Prince George County, Virginia
4. Enhancing existing park and recreation facilities within Prince George County, Virginia
The purpose of the foundation is to support the Prince George County, VA Department of Parks and Recreation by raising funds, accepting gifts and grants and providing other tangibles resources to enhance or expand existing programs, services, facilities and technology of Prince George County related to Parks and Recreation activities, by providing volunteers to support Parks and Recreation activities, and by creating new programs or facilities and by acquiring property or facilities for both active and passive recreation. The Foundation may perform other activities as determined by the foundation or suggested by the Parks and Recreation Department such as promotional or educational activity as are consistent with the exemptions of 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code for charitable and educational organizations. All such activities shall be for the purpose of promoting amateur athletic activities or recreation in Prince George County, Virginia.
The Prince George Parks and Recreation Foundation is a non-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. All donations to the Foundation are tax deductible. The Foundation’s tax identification number is 46-2774727.
